The Best of Lake Country
Lake Country is one of the fastest growing communities within the Central Okanagan, best known for being accessible to three spectacular lakes; Kalamalka, Wood and Okanagan Lake. Local residents frequent Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, The Okanagan Rail Trail, Spion Kop and local wineries and cideries year round.
Okanagan Rail Trail
This 50 km scenic trail spans from Downtown Kelowna to the North end of Kalmalka Lake. Almost half of the trail runs alongside lakes, creeks and natural habitats and it has a maximum grade of 1.3% to enjoy walking, biking and running.
Kalamalka Lake & Wood Lake
Kalmalka and Wood Lake are two lakes that are connected via a dredged channel also known as the Oyama Canal. Both of these lakes are part of a chain of 5 major lakes in the Okanagan Valley. Kalamalka Lake is a marl lake that produces an array of blue, green and turquoise colours.
Spion Kop Hiking Trail
Spion Kop is a large network of trails on crown land that lead to incredible views spanning from Vernon to West Kelowna. The park has 350 hectares total with moderate difficulty levels. It is truly a must do when visiting Lake Country.
